Key Responsibilities

  Set the design vision and quality bar across our Spending, Savings, and Investing experiences, creating products that feel cohesive, intuitive, and unmistakably Chime.

  Lead, coach, and develop a team of product designers, helping them strengthen their craft, expand their impact, and do the best work of their careers.
• 3
  Bring a strong point of view on visual and interaction design, using your craft expertise to push the work from good to exceptional while empowering designers to own the solutions.

  Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to shape strategy, identify the highest-impact opportunities, and translate ambitious ideas into compelling member experiences.

  Think across individual features and journeys to create a connected product experience, balancing immediate member needs with a longer-term design vision.

  Use research, customer insights, data, and experimentation to understand what matters to our members and guide design decisions.

  Champion design excellence across Chime, contributing to the evolution of our product language, design systems, critique culture, and broader design practice.

Requirements

• Experience leading and developing high-performing product design teams responsible for complex, consumer-facing digital products.
• A portfolio or body of work that demonstrates exceptional visual and interaction design craft, alongside the ability to translate that standard into the work of a broader team.
• A track record of creating and delivering compelling design visions across multiple products, journeys, or interconnected experiences.
• Deep product design expertise and the judgment to move comfortably between high-level strategy and the details that make an experience exceptional.
• Experience partnering with senior Product and Engineering leaders to influence product strategy and deliver meaningful customer and business outcomes.
• Experience building strong design teams through coaching, feedback, critique, and talent development.
• The ability to communicate a clear design point of view, bring people along with your thinking, and create clarity in complex or ambiguous spaces.
