Project Engineer / Senior Engineer -RDSS Project

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer/Project Coordinator for implementation and monitoring of projects under the Ministry of Powers Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end coordination of project planning, execution, field supervision, monitoring, reporting, quality assurance, and compliance activities related to power distribution infrastructure strengthening and loss reduction initiatives.



Role & responsibilities

1. Project Overview:

The Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), initiated by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, aims to enhance the operational efficiency and strengthening distribution infrastructure

The role involves end-to-end support in planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of RDSS initiatives.

2. Key Responsibilities:

A. Project Execution and Coordination

1. Support in preparation and review of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for RDSS components.


2. Develop and monitor project schedules, timelines, and implementation plans.


3. Coordinate with DISCOM departments, PMA, contractors, and consultants for approvals and progress tracking.

B. Technical & Field Execution

1. Supervise and monitor system strengthening, feeder segregation, and loss reduction works.


2. Ensure implementation as per technical specifications and RDSS framework.


3. Conduct site inspections, verify project progress, and maintain field-level records.

C. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

• Track physical progress of the project.

D. Financial and Contractual Management

1. Verify Measurement Books (MBs).


2. Maintain records for audits and inspections.

E. Quality Assurance & Compliance

1. Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards during implementation.


2. Conduct technical audits and coordinate third-party inspections.


3. Ensure compliance with RDSS guidelines, timelines, and monitoring protocols.

Skills & Competencies:

1. Expertise in JMC preparation.


2. Strong understanding of distribution systems, substations, feeders, and metering systems.


3. Knowledge of RDSS guidelines and implementation modalities.


4. Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project and project reporting tools.


5. Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills.


6. Ability to handle field challenges.

3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

1. Timely achievement of RDSS project milestones.


2. Accuracy and timeliness of reporting and data entry.


3. Quality compliance and audit readiness.

Preferred candidate profile

1. Education: Diploma/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (mandatory)


2. Experience : 5-10 years in power distribution, project management, or government infrastructure projects


3. Desirable: Experience in RDSS / IPDS / DDUGJY / R-APDRP or similar government schemes
