About This RoleAI processing…
Our mission is to prevent vision loss and ultimately blindness by developing AI software that assists eye doctors in therapy planning for their patients. We use computer vision deep learning models (AI) trained on thousands of cases and millions of images to predict disease progression, individualize therapy and improve outcomes. The decision support algorithm targets widespread eye diseases like Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD, 7.5 mio affected in Germany alone).
We are looking for a talented and creative student to join our team for a paid internship of 4-6 months.

- 2You will refine the deepeye® TPS interface, creating prototypes for new features and solving design challenges to ensure our AI output is intuitive and safe for ophthalmologists.
- 3You will collaborate on continuous product discovery and design usability studies to understand how our software integrates into clinical workflows and ensure it meets regulatory requirements.
- 4You will coordinate with various stakeholders (Clinical Success, Sales, Product Management, Clinical Affairs, and the CEO) to test these designs with actual users.
- 5You will help eliminate technical bottlenecks by testing tools that streamline the transition from design to frontend.
- 6You will support general design tasks to maintain a cohesive visual identity across all our products.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a degree program (User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, or a similar field) requiring a mandatory internship (Pflichtpraktikum) as part of your curriculum.
- Proficiency in UI/UX principles and prototyping. You have an eye for detail and a passion for creating clean, user-centric interfaces.
- Ability to translate complex clinical data into simple, intuitive visualizations.
- Familiar with the basics of user research and testing.
- Working-level English (C1 or higher). German is a plus but not required.
