Your mission The Bikeleasing Group is a growing corporate group with multiple entities and around 500 employees in Germany and Austria. To build sustainable and scalable Payroll & Compensation structures, we are expanding technical excellence within our People Team. As a Senior Payroll Manager (gn) , you will be responsible for both operational payroll and the continuous improvement of our payroll processes. Beyond accurate monthly payroll execution, you will design reporting mechanisms, enhance interfaces, and optimize workflows - playing a key role in the professionalization of our payr
Key Responsibilities
- 1You take operational and technical ownership of the monthly payroll for several entities within the Bikeleasing Group and ensure compliance with all German tax, labor law, and social security regulations.
- 2You handle the maintenance, validation, and reconciliation of all payroll-relevant data in DATEV , including interfaces with our HRIS Personio and accounting systems.
- 3You support the Finance team with budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and monthly/quarterly/annual closing by providing data, insights, and analyses.
- 4Together with your colleague, you act as a central expert partner to Finance, external tax advisors, auditors, and social security institutions.
- 5You coordinate external payroll service providers (e.g., in Austria) and ensure consistent processes and high quality.
- 6In close cooperation with People and Finance, you further develop payroll-relevant tools, reporting logic, and system interfaces.
Requirements
- Several years of hands-on experience in payroll management, ideally within a mid-sized corporate group environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of German income tax and social security law.
- Confident handling of DATEV Lohn & Gehalt (nice to have).
- Very good knowledge of Personio is an advantage.
- You think in terms of structures, standards, and scalability rather than one-off solutions—and you develop pragmatic interim fixes when needed.
- You can clearly evaluate complex topics, set priorities, and communicate effectively for different target groups.
- When required, you take functional leadership and steer topics confidently through to implementation.
- You work independently, precisely, and reliably.
- Excellent German skills (C1 or higher) are essential, as well as fluent English skills (B2 or higher).
