Key Responsibilities
- 1Build full-stack solutions across Stripe's ecosystem, including back-end services, and integrations with other Stripe primitives
- 2Understand user needs and pain points to prioritize engineering work and deliver high-quality solutions that meet user needs
- 3Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, partnerships, engineering platforms, and other engineering teams to deliver these solutions
- 4Recruit top engineering talent in partnership with Stripe’s recruiting team to build a diverse and high-performing team
- 5Lead and manage a team of talented engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure their success
- 6Drive the execution of projects, overseeing the entire development lifecycle from planning to delivery, while maintaining high standards of quality and timely completion
- 7Provide hands-on technical leadership (architecture and design, vision, direction, and requirements setting, and incident response processes) for your reports
- 8Set the team’s direction, from north star vision to goals, OKRs, and roadmap
- 9Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the team
Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering management experience, directly managing and growing teams of 5+ engineers focused on building and shipping products at scale
- 10+ years of full-time software development experience, with a strong background in backend development
- Experience working across geographies
- Experience leading teams with a growth charter, which have used experimentation to drive product usage and growth
- Experience building extensible, leveraged software solutions that scale to different kinds of user needs, with the ability to empathize with users and advocate for excellent user experiences
- Previous experience working in payments and on payments technology
- Previous experience using Stripe products
